We’ve rounded up our pick of the bunch from across the country’s most luxurious properties.

Toorak VIC

Architect Ilario Cortese worked with interior design firm SJB to create this palatial, four-level home, set on an elevated 3200-square-metre block with Paul Bangay-designed gardens, a pool, a tennis court and views over the city from the main bedroom suite. The luxury finishes include textured wallpaper, silk carpets, Italian mosaics and hand-trowelled plaster walls, plus smart-home technology.

697 Tallebudgera Creek Road, Tallebudgera Valley QLD

With space to host the grandest of events, M Estate is a private, 1.65-hectare property with a tennis court, 25-metre pool and helipad, all set 12 kilometres from a smorgasbord of beaches, shops and restaurants. The 1495-square-metre house features four-metre-high arched French doors, Italian marble and travertine finishes, and a commercial-quality kitchen.

Mandemar NSW

With a five-hectare vineyard, productive olive trees, expansive fruit and vegetable gardens, and space to run stock and house chickens, Yaraandoo offers a farming oasis alongside a substantial country home built in 2012, and a two-bedroom guest cottage with ornamental lake, all just 13 kilometres from Berrima.

You’ll take a welcome step back in time at Braemar, a 1930s “stockbroker’s Tudor” house designed by John Brogan. Period highlights include timber-panelled ceilings, a regal cedar staircase, leadlighting and a grand feature fireplace in the formal lounge. The home comes with a gas-heated pool and a separate spa housed within a copper-roofed gazebo.

46 Gordon Street, Hawthorne QLD

Boasting 32 metres of river frontage plus a private jetty and pontoon, Mimosa Estate has been designed with entertaining in mind. Party central would have to be the glamorous poolhouse with a cocktail bar, but other features are: a huge terrace with an outdoor kitchen; a butler’s pantry and cold room adjoining the main marble kitchen; and a floodlit tennis court.

399a Nelson Road, Mount Nelson TAS

Families of all ages and stages are catered for at this contemporary property which captures views over bushland, the surrounding district or the River Derwent from nearly every window. There’s a 25-metre lap pool, a spa, a paved fire pit and an outdoor kitchen, plus multiple indoor living spaces including a custom theatre room and poolside family room.

50 Abbotsford Parade, Abbotsford NSW

A covered terrace overlooking Hen and Chicken Bay is the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks at this sophisticated residence. Set over three levels connected by an internal lift, the home comes with two living zones plus a home cinema, a limestone kitchen with a butler’s pantry, a home automation system, solar power and a heated, mosaic-tiled pool.

71 Davis Road, Macclesfield SA

Wrapped in almost 24 hectares of profitable vineyards, Saint-Clar Estate is located in the picturesque Adelaide Hills a 45-minute drive from the CBD. The renovated main residence has sandstone and terracotta finishes and open-plan living spaces extending to a wisteria-covered pergola overlooking a heated pool. There’s also a three-bedroom guest house.
